The History of Diving Suits Over the Years

Diving suits have been a thing for centuries and there had been so many copies and different variations of them through out time. Speaking of which the first ever diving suit was made in the 1710s by an english man named John Lethbrige. The suit consists of a barrel-like suit that you had to go inside. There were arm holes on each side and glass to see where your face would be. there were no legs in the suit so you have to be lowered down by a rope and metal chain. By 1797 a guy named Klingert made a new suit this suit was oval shaped this suit you could acctully go inside and walk in the ocean though there was a tube of air that wasn't very efficent and was metal there full more armoured. in the 1710s Andrew Becker made a suit that was fully metal but was really hard to move it was really big. these suits were actully inspierd by a game called bioshock. Around the same time one of the most popular diving suits was created called The Old Gentleman it was lether and
